What Is LegalCamp and Why Are We Creating It?

LegalCamp 2.0 is an open platform, which creates an individual value of personal and professional development. The platform is created by a group of Ukrainian bloggers, legal and IT professionals. The purpose of our platform is creating synergy of people who practice law with people who earn money by creating and using modern technologies (both: IT and non-IT).

Our platform is based on online collaboration and regular barcamps organized using open spaces technology. As is the case with most barcamps, LegalCamp offline events are open and participatory workshop-type events, whose content is provided by participants.

The first LegalCamp took place in December 2009. Within a brief timeframe organizers managed to gather 100 participants from IT and Internet industry. LegalCamp 2009 included 11 workshops covering a broad range of different legal issues. Our final destination is creating a permanent platform for a dialog between legal and IT industries of Ukraine in order to help developing information society and civil society in our country.

When and Where?

LegalCamp 2.0 will take place in Kyiv, on June 24, 2010 in i-Klass IT-education center.

The working languages of our events and this website are Ukrainian and Russian. However, if you are interested in attending or need any additional information regarding LegalCamp, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Format of the Event

Unlike LegalCamp 2009, LegalCamp 2.0 will be conducted in a one-day format.

If you would like to become our presenter, please contact the English-speaking organizer. We will provide an interpreter for your presentation. Unfortunately, we cannot cover your travel costs so far, but will try to provide a decent accommodation.
